In this age of cancel culture, I am a little lost about what I am supposed to do. I have been a fan of Marilyn Manson since the release of his first major album, “Portrait of an American Family”. I have followed his career closely and have loved his music and his innovation. But with the recent barrage of accusations from former fiancé Even Rachel Woods and others, I feel guilty for liking him and find it hard to listen to his music without feeling judged. How do we deal with cancel culture when it hits you about something you really like? Same for Gary Glitter and many others. Can one separate the music from the musician and his/her egregious acts?
